KM Engine slows down Excel 2016 (office 365) to a crawl - copy/paste

when the KM engine is running, excel 2016 slows down to a crawl when trying to copy/paste.
it will take approx 30 seconds after ⌘C is pressed to have the cell in excel released and I can move to the next cell.
when I quit the KM engine this issue is solved, instant copy/paste possible in Excel.
Anybody has the same issue? or solution.

running KM 8.0.4 (I reinstalled it as well) on Mac OSX high Sierra 10.13.3

Excel 2011 has no issues when running KM

You could try to exclude Excel from the Clipboard History under preferences

This solved the problem of slow excel for a while, but recently, Excel is running slow again but quitting KM makes it fast and I confirmed the clipboard exclusion is still in place.

Is there a new fix to add to this one?

I don't have Excel excluded from the Clipboard History, and Excel 365 runs fast for me.
However, if you have a long KM Clipboard History with large clipboards, that can have an effect.

I'm using CopyClip v1.9.3 which makes for a long history of clipboard cuts. Does that interact with the KM clipboard history?

It doesn't help. You have two background processes that are saving the very large clipboards produced by Excel (and other MS Office apps), each saving a separate copy.

I wouldn't run both.
