To be clear, $KMVAR_Variable works when I executed a text script, but it doesn't work outside of Keyboard Maestro. Same with Python, all my scripts used to work with os.environ["KMVAR_Variable"], but this suddenly stopped working.
Are you using Big Sur by any chance?

Originally, I was going to say no, but technically I am synced with a Mac that is on the Big Sur beta. Not sure if that could be impacting this. What do you think?
Originally I was thinking it might be a bug that I thought I was seeing, but it ended up that one of my settings was disabled in System Preferences.
