I know: macOS Golden Gate has only been in beta for seconds so I don’t imagine Keyboard Maestro can possibly have been updated. But I’m having a problem that I think might have a simple solution.
Right now, Keyboard Maestro isn’t working for me at all on Golden Gate and that just seems like a permissions issue. Has the new OS reset anything? I can’t see what could be blocking it, although maybe that just means I’m wrong.
You might be amused to know that I asked Siri AI what permissions Keyboard Maestro needs and it confidently sent me to a place in System Settings that doesn’t exist. I’m actually rather impressed with Siri AI overall, but things like this really reveal that it is AI.
Thank you. I didn’t know about that and it has shown me that the macros are firing normally, so it does definitely look like a permissions thing.
Apple’s changed System Settings around a bit since that wiki was written so I could be turning on and off the wrong things, but I think I’ve found it – and so far it hasn’t helped.
I’ll just have to put it down to beta-itus and accept that several times an hour I’m going to be reminded how much I rely on Keyboard Maestro.
I'm a bit confused: First you say it's not working at all. Then you say the macros are firing, which implies that it's definitely working.
So can you explain in more detail exactly what it is that's not working? It's working fine for me on my Golden Gate machine. Golden Gate is a relatively "light" update in terms of changing the core OS, so it'd be surprising if Keyboard Maestro was broken in general; I tested all of our apps, and while they need some visual tweaks, they all run fine.
That interactive wizard tells me that when I trigger a particular macro, it fires. However, neither it nor any Keyboard Maestro macros then actually do anything at all.
So something is blocking it and I’m sure it’s a permissions thing, but I’ve been through all macOS settings and I’ve toggled everything on and off.

I do use TextSoap and I do have a Keyboard Maestro macro that features it, but I last used that around noon today. Scrolling back up, I’m seeing the same error (including the “message repeats” three times in the last few hours.
But then I forgot that KM replaces the system Application Switcher, and I’ve been successfully using Command-Tab all day. And a KM Macro to move and resize a window is working.
When I’m off my deadline, I’ll restart the Mac again and find some salt.
So it seems like it's a problem particular to one (or more?) macros. Focus on those in your troubleshooting, and it seems the plug-in "Clean Clipboard with TextSoap" has some issues, so you might want to remove it.
I don’t understand what was wrong with that TextSoap one but I’ve tossed it away without regret.
And I did also find something else: one key KM macro was failing because it runs a Shortcut which – not by my doing – no longer exists. I’ve seen this before with Shortcuts, to the extent that tI back them up now often, so I should’ve suspected it here. But since so much seemed to be failing exactly as I went to macOS Golden Gate, I didn’t think of it.
