Named clipboard to paste signature image into google docs

Hi,
I've put an image of my signature into a named clipboard called Sig. I can then use the paste from named clipboard to paste the signature into most applications such as mail, notes etc. But I want to insert into google docs, and I'm having problems. The paste from named clipboard does not work.

I've tried a work around that opens the clipboard switcher, selects Sig and then right clicks and paste image. This does work, but the Image comes out very small and not in a nice format.

Yet it work easily in text expander.

Does anyone know why this is so problematic.

Google docs seems to require that the image be uploaded each time from a file, which seems overkill when I have it sitting in my clipboard. I've tried paste, and it also will not let me paste from the main clipboard.

Hi Hamish

Try my attempt, import the KM macro enclosed in which you change the filename, in my example placed on the desktop (and your real name if you wish to put that right after you signature.
Signatur.kmmacros (3.0 KB)

Hope this helps!
Walter

Doesn't working how? Which browser are you using, what is the format of the image on the Named Clipboard, what is your actual macro (you can find instructions on how to post a macro here).

Asking because, in a quick test with Safari, pasting a PNG into a Google Doc from a Named Clipboard works just fine.

Thanks Walter, your solution worked perfectly.

Yes using safari and a png file stored in a named clipboard. Walter's solution worked fine. My macro simply using the one action of paste named clipboard. Maybe that just works for text clipboard. It worked for other applications just not google docs.
