I found this thread on how to open the last file within a folder.

Sure is: Open Most Recently Added File in Specified Folder.kmmacros (1.9 KB) [image] Just change the ~/Downloads directory path to the one you want and you should be good to go.

Can the same be done for the last created file within a directory with subfolders?

Not that I'm aware of. Keyboard Maestro doesn’t have a way to natively monitor subdirectories. There might be work-around but I'm not familiar with any.

You might look at Hazel for this kind of thing. While anything I can do with either KM or Hazel I still stick to KM, there are some things that Hazel is capable of that KM is not.

Using old posts and some youtube videos, I have been able to create a macro to watch a folder for a particular type of file. I have a folder of markdown files which I create using a particular app, Highlights. Is it possible to have the macro open any new or updated files in the folder? [image]
