Quick macro delay

Is there a way to have KB maestro add a very slight delay between steps when you record a quick macro? I'm trying to use it to record and playback macros as I need them while I'm editing (DaVinci Resolve) - but Resovle doesnt seem to respond fast enough to how quickly KB Meastro plays back the macros, so some keys get missed some of the time.

One different way to solve this is to add the following action to the start of your recorded macro. This will insure that each action has a 0.3 second delay between execution.

See: Recording

Specifically:

Normally, Keyboard Maestro does not record pauses between actions, so the macro will play back at fast speed. However, you can add a 0.25 second pause to your macro by clicking the Clock button, or you can option-click the Clock button to turn on “real time”, and Keyboard Maestro will record a pause between each action which will simulate playback at approximately the same speed as you recorded.

Thank you, Peter. Never would have guessed. I guess KM holds my hand with labels most of the time.

Also, still wrapping my head around some pretty basic quick macro concepts while disambiguating them from the more permanent macro recorder. e.g. which hotkey to hit to record versus play a quick macro. Must be something about seeing one hotkey on top and a second hotkey in the action below, and in particular, the action isn't the ever-familiar similar simulate keystroke or something that's super intuitive to me.

(so, “what’s going on here anyway”, I have to remember each time:)

And on the topic of things to remember: The real-time option is probably something I will want most of the time. So I’ll make a note I should hold option and click the icon.

thoughts on potential user-side driven enhancements

The concept is really convenient though, and I know I could mold it to my liking. I can imagine using a macro asking me what to call the quick macro and then using labeled buttons to start the recording just as I wish and maybe even having some hotkey logic to help manage replacing unused quick macro hotkeys, e.g. cycling through them. So I type a name, start my recording, and when I finish recording It tells me the hotkey it assigned, so I can use it right away or customize the hotkey. A macro palette with all the hotkeys labeled would come in handy at that point.

Probably just a me thing because I can't recall any UX feedback on the forum on this. But now I've said it anyway  thank you!

edit: ah for discussion I should do a new thread, I can split this off
