@peternlewis, sorry for reviving this old post, but I was wondering if it would be possible for you to take the approach that @DanThomas uses in his PlugIn?
IOW, include a new KM Helper App that could be configured to display alert notifications, while also having the KM Engine that can display banner notifications?
