Is there any way to restrict macros only to spotlight search? I want my “kind:folder” and “kind:image” snippets etc. to only fire in spotlight and/or finder search but I can’t find Spotlight in the restrictions.

In the Macro Group settings, you can restrict to the “Finder” app, but I don’t think you can restrict to “Spotlight” since it is not really an app.
You might try using a prefix that you are unlikely to use elsewhere: ;sl.
For example:
;sl.folder

by excluding apps where it causes a major problem, like browsers. Thank

You might be able to put these in a macro group that’s enabled by the same hotkey as Spotlight. Then you’d need to do something fancy to dismiss Spotlight… Not super easy.
