Search and Replace plain text file

Hi there,

After searching and going through results, this thread-

How Do I Replace a Line in a Text File, using KM or Perl?

I have this action in a KM macro: perl -p -i -e 's/CreateDate=.*/CreateDate=20200101T120001Z/' "$KMVAR_myFile" I'd like to use today's date and time in the replacement string (yyyymmddThhmmssZ). I'd be grateful for a way to do this either via Perl or by passing KM date and time variables to the Perl script. Would this be something like: perl -p -i -e 's/CreateDate=.*/CreateDate='&"$KMVAR_myDateTime"&'/' "$KMVAR_myFile" [1]

made me think I'm doing it right but not getting the result. Let's hope I'm wrong somehow.

I'm trying to Search and Replace a string of text in a plain .txt file. Actually a whole folder of them, but in my troubleshooting so far I've narrowed it down that even trying to do this once on a selected file isn't firing right somehow.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Can you double check that there's no whitespace in the for line before or after your > character?

Also...why is your gear icon yellow? Mine's not that color even in dark mode... the only time I recall seeing icons turn yellow is if there's a potential error with the configuration. 🤷🏻

I thought that too initially but when I looked closer I think he crossed it out in the image, probably for privacy.

The file path in the action name made me do a double take.

This was it– There was a blank line hidden in the for line. Thank you!
