Selecting a submenu item

I am trying to select File->Share->Mail> as a command for an action, and repeatedly get an error message, “Select Menu Item failed to find target menu item File➤Share➤Mail. Macro “Open in Preview and save to Evernote” cancelled (while executing Select “Mail” in the Menu “File” in the Front Application)”. I’m sure it’s something simple, but I have been away from KM for a while, and would appreciate any help that can be provided. Thanks.

Please post the actual KM Action or Macro where this is happening, and state which App you are trying to use the macro with.

Here's an example using Google Chrome:

Hey Dick,

The problem is most likely the fact that the bleepin’ share menu is dynamic, and the menu items don’t actually exist until it’s opened.

Use an action to OPEN the Share menu first:

File ⇢ Share

Then another macro to select the specific menu item.

File ⇢ Share ⇢ Mail

We need the information @JMichaelTX asked for to do more than speculate though.

Here is the macro thus far. I am working in Safari. The first step opens the window in Preview. The objective of the second step is to try to email the material in Preview. As I seem unable to copy a screen shot of the macro I will copy the material from this second step:

Select “Mail” in the Menu “File” in the Front Application

Select menu in Front Application Menu

Menu Title File
Submenu Share
Menu Item Mail

I usually use Snagit to capture material from the screen, but it doesn’t seem to work in this area.

Thanks again for your help…

Just got the chance to try this, and it worked as you thought it might. Thank you.
