Selecting from a dropdown menu

Did a search on how to select from a drop down menu. Seems the hard way of using up and down keys is the only way that works.

I'm using Scrivener for Mac. When I compile a document, the menu shown here appears. I have to up arrow multiple times to get to the top of the list, then down arrow to get to the option I want. I do this because I compile out to PDF and to ePUB each time.

Is there not a command/action that says "select the second menu item" or "select the twelfth menu item"?

If not otherwise possible, automate what you do by hand. Sometimes you can get to the top of the menu with Opt + Arrow up, then Arrow down. So maybe like this.

Or start typing when the menu is open. p ... d should lead to PDF

Or try this

Another option is to use Insert Text by Typing to simulate typing the name of the menu item you want:

Great suggestion! I usually forget about this option

PERFECT!
Never thought to try this method.
Thanks so much.
