Does the “Set timeout action setting” include a notification for canceling the timeout? I don’t see it. Instead I attach the Timeout setting to an Alert action. Is that how it supposed to work?
I don’t really follow the question.
Each action (that can potentially take any time) has a timeout. the default timeout can vary a lot depending on the expectations for the action (so the timeout for Activate Application is a few seconds (20 I think) where as the default timeout for Pause Until is very large (99 hours I think).
You can adjust the timeout for the actions. I’ve added a bit more explicit control over timeouts and their behaviour and failures and their notifications for 7.0.
You can adjust the timeout for the actions.
Hi, Peter. The default timeout time is 99 hours(OMG). Could I change the default to other time ?
The default timeout time varies from action to action. For many actions it is 99 hours because it is expected to wait for a completion.
Generally the only actions that have short timeouts are ones that are really expected to be completed more or less instantly (eg Copy).
Adjust as necessary.
