@peternlewis @DanThomas Seems like the spammers are back – just flagged 3 (so far). Accounts created in the last few minutes, first post is the spam.

I flagged one. And immediately it disappeared. I'm not sure if that was a coincidence or if I have the ability to make posts disappear when I mark them as spam.

After some number of users mark a post as spam, Discourse unlists it. I'm not sure what that number is, but the post will have had enough other reports for yours to have been the final necessary for its unlisting.

Yes, seems like a flurry.
The forum invite system did its thing and stopped handing out invites after ten, so that definitely limits the damage, but I'll need to find a way to make the forum invite system better.
I've noticed that the email addresses tend to bounce immediately after they get their forum invite code, so maybe I'll make people do a second round and receive a second email. I've never seen that done though, so it may confuse real people.
Thanks for flagging them, please do continue to do that because I think as soon as you folks flag them (maybe twice?) they stop being visible to other people.
I'll see what I can do about restricting the flow if it continue tomorrow when the forum invite system allows more invitations.
