Test macro works when I hit "try" but

Hi All,
I'm wading back in after some time away by trying an embarrassingly simple Macro: open a file that I use all the time from anywhere on my laptop. It works perfectly when I hit "try" at the bottom of the screen, but not when I actually use the keyboard shortcut listed for the macro. In fact, no keyboard shortcuts work -- everything just results in that "thonk" sound. (Just to cover my bases, I will report that there's a check in the box rather than an X.) I'm using Mojave 10.14.2 and KM 8.2.4 I'm sure there's something obvious that I'm missing. Thanks!

Most likely that means the Macro (and its Macro Group) are NOT active at the time you press the hotkey. If your MG is setup to available only when a specific app is active, then that app needs to be frontmost when you press the hotkey.

For more info see: Macro Activation .

Questions?

Hey @Pommette,

This does NOT ensure the macro is active.

The macro group has has to be active – and it has to be a global group and not an app-specific group.

Right - thanks!
