Dear Chris, A thousand thanks!

The field below "Execute the following actions" is inactive... how to add URLs here?

Forgive my "..." questions with your magnanimity.

Hey @Yu_Ii,

Just click in the area where it says “No Action”.

The Action Inspector sheet will open, and you can pick whatever actions you want to emplace.

You can also use the insert functions from the Edit menu – take some time to inspect those and their associated keyboard shortcuts.

You may want to use an [Open a URL]
(action:Open a URL [Keyboard Maestro Wiki]) action.

Or perhaps a New Front Browser Tab action.

It looks like you need to spend a little time familiarizing yourself with Keyboard Maestro.

See the Keyboard Maestro Wiki

See the Quick Start.

Also – if you haven't read these they're worth a couple of minutes of your time.

How to Post Your Macro to the Forum

Tip: How Do I Get The Best Answer in the Shortest Time?

-Chris

The miracle of my patient guru worked! The four websites, thru Open URL, open in side-by-side tabs. Perfect! The clipboard content isn't fed for each URL, though. I just manually paste it. Every time I run the new shortcut is a sincere thank-you.

I sounds like you're doing something the hard way. Here's an example.

Open a List of URLs from the Clipboard in the Front Browser v1.00.kmmacros (5.7 KB)

If you're always using the same URLs you can save them in a variable instead of using the clipboard.

Open a List of URLs from a Variable in the Front Browser v1.00.kmmacros (6.3 KB)

Hadn't felt so feeble since school days in 1950's... and don't want to ask grandkids! Failed you I know. my macro can open all below sites, sans clipboard content and I couldn't make use/sense of the template you sent me. Given:

How can I amend my macro to use the clipboard when invoked? I am trudging along to learn KM one bit at a time ... & Thank you. Really.

Hey @Yu_Ii,

Okay, I think we're failing to communicate...

After coming back to this I think you want to search the given sites for the text on the clipboard.

Yes? No? Maybe so?

-Chris

YES, precisely. You taught me and I could make a simpel macro to open four sites tab-to-tab. But, how to make the clipboard content as the search string remains to be the question.

Thank you, Chris, for your patience with me,

Hey @Yu_Ii,

Okay, this should work.

Select some text anywhere and then activate the macro.

This macro is simplistic.

  • Some sites want a language specification, and I've selected English.

  • Some sites want special syntax for multi-word idioms, and I have not allowed for this.

Nevertheless – this should get you started.

Open a List of URLs from a Variable in the Front Browser v2.00.kmmacros (8.8 KB)

Hello Chris,
Copied a string to Clipboard and loaded the macro and changed the key combo to Alt+Command+9 and invoked the Hotkey. Nothing happens, Tried multiple times. PLEASE bear up this ordeal to fruition. Thank you.

The macro copies selected text for you.

If you don't want it to do that then disable the copy action.

Make sure the macro and the group it is in are enabled.

-Chris

The macro doesn’t load as if it doesn’t exist. My other Macros work [proof KM is running] Don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Hallelujah! The macro's activated and runs like a charm! And I bow in awe and gratitude as I run it hourly and every day. From a grateful heart, THANK YOU, Chris.
