Is there any way to trigger a macro by holding down a modifier key and clicking the trackpad mouse button?
I see in the documentation where it discusses using clicks as triggers, but I can find no way to do it. I’m using Keyboard Maestro 8.0.1 and I’ve tried the “Device Key” trigger but it does not recognize a trackpad/mouse click.
Can macros be triggered by clicks?
Thanks
As far as I am aware, modern trackpads do not use USB buttons for the click (I have no idea what they use). So I don’t know of any way to do this.
You can try to look at Better Touch Tool. https://www.boastr.net
With this you can make gestures on a trackpad or other input devices run a terminal/shell script.
And KM lets you execute macros terminal/shell script.
See this demo of it working.
