Is it possible to take action when the monitor wakes up?
I'm not looking for a way to wake up a computer system. I just want keyboard maestro to detect the start of my monitor.
There is a wake Trigger that might do what you want.
Go to: Triggers [Keyboard Maestro Wiki] and look at 'Wake'

There’s a great tool called EventScripts that will let you trigger KM macros from various events - many of which are not natively detectable by KM. Have a look at the Screen Events section on this page: EventScripts Events
It will detect the event Screen did wake
