Zip Folder In Finder Then Delete Original Folder

Hi, I'm curious if anyone is aware of a macro that zips a selected folder in Finder and deletes the original folder when done?

My current way of doing this is dragging and dropping the folder onto the Archive Utility App that I added in the Finder toolbar.

I use Command + O all the time to open zipped files, but there doesn't appear to be a key command for zipping a file?

Thanks so much!

Try this macro:

@tiffle beat me by a few minutes, but here’s something I just put together real quick as a test... it works well for me in my limited testing.

That being said, the link he provided is to a macro built by a KM legend (who sadly, has since passed away), so his macro is no doubt, much more eloquent than mine.

Download Macro(s): Zip currently selected directory in Finder.kmmacros (2.6 KB)
