Caps Lock as Function plus Control prevents KM use as hotkey

MacOS 15 Sequoia has window tiling built in, and I’d like to make shortcuts for Top Left, Bottom Right etc. However, my keyboard doesn’t have a Function (Globe) key on the left, and it’s a pain to use modifiers on left and right with Apple’s default shortcuts, so I thought I’d remap Caps Lock to Globe.

In Keyboard Maestro, Function + arrow keys map to Home, End, Page Up and Page Down. I could set up Ctrl-Shift-CapsLock + arrow keys for three of the corners, and see ⌃⌥⇧ plus the symbol for Home etc. However, for some reason holding Ctrl-Shift-CapsLock + Down arrow doesn’t register in Keyboard Maestro. If I hold Ctrl-Shift-Function + Down arrow, the key combo registers in Keyboard Maestro, but only works for those keys, and not when I substitute Caps Lock for Function.

On checking further it seems to be the combo of Control with Caps Lock-mapped-to-Function that breaks — other modifiers like Shift or Option register as Keyboard Maestro hot keys as expected. Has anyone else experienced this?

↑ Added by using Function key. It’s also weird that if I’ve mapped Caps Lock to be a Function key, this only triggers when using Function (and not Caps Lock)

Cheers

Have you seen the WinMover macro set? I use it daily for moving windows around.
