Idea: shortcut conflict popup

Hello,
Like many I am sure, I have a gazillion shortcuts already in use.
It would be nice to get a pop up notice when I enter a shortcut which is already in use when I create a new macro.
thank you

People occasionally ask for this, but it’s not really practical for two reasons:

  1. There is no way for Keyboard Maestro to be able to tell which macros will be active at the same time. Macro Groups have such varied ways of being active, and can also be dynamically activated and deactivated, so conflicting hot keys may well not actually conflict.
  2. Conflicting Hot Keys is in fact a powerfully useful feature in Keyboard Maestro and you frequently do want multiple hot keys active at the same time and then to use the Conflict Palette to select between them.

You can use KeyCue to see all the currently active hot keys, as well as all current menu command shortcuts, which might be a useful tool to use if you find yourself conflicting with things.

thank you Peter. A good point: yes, the conflict palette is useful, and KeyCue is a simple solution
