What dose Automatic Completions do?

Problems with KM Editor Auto-Completion

Continuing the discussion from KM Editor Productivity Tips?: Peter, for me in Keyboard Maestro 7.1 (7.1) on OSX 10.10.5, the auto-completion is very aggressive, happening without me pressing the ESC key. In fact, if I just keep typing (like a variable name), it ACCEPTS the autocompletion (which totally screws up what I am typing), which seems wrong to me. If you’re typing a variable and pause for a second, if what you have already typed matches the beginning of a variable you already have it will automatically complete what your typing into that variable.

Example: if I have a variable called test123, and I type test1 and then pause, it will give me the option to automatically complete that as test123. See the screen recording below.

Is there a way to disable the auto-add of "all:" and other functions to the search? That seems to hinder me more than it helps me. I regularly find myself deleting what it puts in, and I don't quite understand how it picks what it auto-enters.
