Is there an action that will indicate the time remaining on a pause to the user? i.e. I'm pausing for x seconds .. pause ending in 5...4...3...2..1.. type of thing?
Pop up a Progress action in a 5 to 1 countdown loop.

I've been using a utility that I wrote about a week ago to do that sort of thing. I'll upload it here for you to consider. Not only does it show you how much time you have left, it also lets you pause the timer (at the moment, using the CAPS button is the only method for pausing, but I plan to add more later.) It also uses some flashing emoji to try to catch the user's attention, (as a test) but I can change that.
It is called something like this:
Utility Warning [M] [S] [C] Macro (v11.0.3)

Macro-Notes
- Macros are always disabled when imported into the Keyboard Maestro Editor.
- The user must ensure the macro is enabled.
- The user must also ensure the macro's parent macro-group is enabled.
