"Press and hold" modifiers in Final Cut Pro not working

Hello, I’m new to KM and I’m pulling my hair out over things that should be very simple.

Basically, I want to stretch an image by holding down the left mouse button along with the Alt key (this allows me to stretch the image while keeping the top-left corner fixed).

The problem is that despite the macro to simulate holding down the Alt key, it doesn’t work when I stretch the image.

Am I missing something, or does FCP not work well with KM?

Thank you for your help!

I tried that too, but it failed again :frowning:

I think you should read this post:

...which says:

If Keyboard Maestro sends any events, it will have the modifiers set as configured in the action.

I think what that means is that the modifiers are set "if KM sends any events" not "if you press the mouse." In other words, the action to press a modifier effects only keystrokes and mouse clicks that are generated by KM, not by you.

There's a chance I'm wrong about this, but that's how I read the post above. Perhaps I can be corrected by one of the real experts here.

Yes, @Airy is right. This is not going to work.

A Keyboard Maestro simulated held down key will not work in conjunction with a mouse button held down to replicate what dragging the mouse with that modifier key held does in an app.

It would be nice if it could and in the past I made a few unsuccessful attempts to try to find a way. There was a discussion about this recently.
